BOARD OF DIRECTORS: Claire Carver-Dias


A business person, leader, athlete, sport-administrator, coach, and community volunteer, Carver-Dias has built a successful professional career as an executive coach, business owner and communications consultant over the past decade.

A member of Canada’s synchronized swimming team, she was captain (2001-2002) and won medals at the 2002 Commonwealth, 1999 Pan American and 2000 Olympic Games. Following her retirement from competition, she coached at the national level, and became actively involved on the Board of AthletesCAN (2003-2005; Chair, 2006-2008) and the Coaching Association of Canada (2006-2007).

As a communications consultant, she provided professional services to many sport organizations, including the Canadian Olympic Committee, Coaching Association of Ontario, AthletesCAN, Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton, and Synchro Canada. As an executive coach and Practice Leader with Impact Coaches, she is a trusted advisor to leaders/partners in the professional services industry, helping them build and lead effective teams in order to achieve their financial targets and corporate strategy.

She is currently a member of the Professionals Advisory Council for the Shaw Festival and gives her time, skills and finances to a number of charities.

Holder of a BA (with distinction) from the University of Toronto, she also has a MA from McGill and a PhD in English/Writing from the University of Wales (Bangor).
